The Top Gun competition was held on Friday, November 18, 2011, at Central State Prison in Macon, registration started at 8:30 a.m. and shooting began at 9:00 a.m. There were over 50 participants braving a cool breeze, but enjoyed the fellowship and competition. The Winner was Robert Ketterman from the Macon Probation Office, 2nd Place was John Kelly from Probation Training and 3rd Place was Justin Wilkinson from Parole.
In Flight B, the winner was Rob Jones from Legal, 2nd Place was Curtis Thomson, Griffin Probation Office and 3rd Place was Charlie Coleman from Wilcox State Prison.
In Flight C, the winner was Ginny Boulton from the Marietta Probation Office, 2nd Place was Rusty Cravey from the Tifton DRC and 3rd Place was Ray Plunkett from the Moultrie Probation Office.
The winner of the Glock Raffle was Derek Lovelady from Griffin, Georgia. As promised the Commisioner gave 20 Membership Awards to GPA and the recipients were, Robert Ketterman, Macon PO; Nathan Turner, Ft. Valley PO; Travis Bell, Covington PO; Michael Lopez, Marietta PO; William Hendley, Gainesville PO; Brian Ely, Thomson Parole; Christopher Kimmer, Dekalb PO; Ray Plunkett, Moultrie PO; Ginny Boulton, Marietta PO; and Dudley Taylor.
The GPA Board appreciates everyone who attended and we look forward to an even bigger event next year.
2012 MID-WINTER CONFERENCE - March 14-16, 2012 Plans are underway for GPA's Mid-Winter Conference - it will be held at Unicoi Lodge & Conference Center in Helen. Registration and information on how to book your rooms will be forthcoming. From the talk around - it looks like it is going to be the place to be. GEORGIA SHERIFF YOUTH HOMES The GPA once again we will be collecting items needed for the GEORGIA SHERIFF YOUTH HOMES, we will list some of their needs in the coming months, so please check back.
